LASER: A breathe of fresh air in asthma
LASER is a multi-centre randomised, double blind, placebo-controlled, parallel group trial. It tests whether using a temperature-controlled laminar airflow device (Airsonett®) at night helps adults with poorly-controlled, severe allergic asthma.
PILOT: PLEURAL INFECTION LONGITUDINAL OUTCOME STUDY
This study will prospectively test a potential risk prediction tool for pleural infections. The designed tool can be used to identify those at high risk of poor clinical outcomes when they arrive at hospital, such as death, surgery, or prolonged hospital stay.
RAMPP: RANDOMISED AMBULATORY MANAGEMENT OF PRIMARY PNEUMOTHORAX
This is a multi-centre randomised study investigating ambulatory chest catheter drainage devices for treating primary pneumothorax. Pneumothorax is the build-up of air between the lungs and the chest wall, and is sometimes called a collapsed lung.
ROSA TRIAL: A RANDOMISED CONTROLLED TRIAL OF CONTINUOUS POSITIVE AIRWAY PRESSURE (CPAP) IN PATIENTS WITH IMPAIRED VISION DUE TO DIABETIC RETINOPATHY AND CONCURRENT OBSTRUCTIVE SLEEP APNOEA (OSA)
This multi-centre randomised trial aims to establish whether we can improve the vision of adults with obstructive sleep apnoea and type 2 diabetes with established diabetic retinopathy by giving them continuous positive airway pressure treatment.
